I study CS at TUT, Tampere University of Technology. I used to study in HUT, but my dear lady got better hold of me, and I moved to Tampere, where she incindentally is studying Environmental Engineering in TUT.

When not studying (= IRCing, and just bobbing around), I code and take photos of various (mostly slowly, or not at all, moving) objects (with various degree of success). And somewhere in between I manage to be a slashdot addict. Speaking of which, I have pleasure using debian GNU/Linux on my home computers. But I'm not a linux zealot, mind you. Being an non-zealot, I can point you to some interesting places where you may find something interesting for you. One is Alan Cox' diary, and, as is so common in this world, the other side to it. LWN (Linux Weekly News) is a must see with it's "ev'ry 'hursday" schedule. And don't forget KT (Kernel Traffic), with it's multitude of Cousins. Recently (2003-03 onwards) I've taken to following lkml through gmane mail->news gateway.

Things I like include mainly enterntainment. I like books, especially fantasy worlds by Anne McCafferey, Terry Pratchett, Robin Hobb. Not so long time ago, when I was younger, I liked more Sword'n'Magic fantasy, sortof Conan (by Robert E. Howard). That doesn't mean I don't enjoy other type of books. I rather enjoyed Untinen-Auel's Children Of Earth. Unfortunately at time being, I really don't have enough time for books.

But books aren't the sole enterntainment. There's a whole world of computer games. I personally enjoyed Myst series. Riven (sequel to Myst), was a bit of a disappointment, but I'll get over it. I also liked really much Lucas Art's 'adventure' styled games. Monkey Island I, II, Indiana Jones, Day of The Tentacle. All really good games.
